Short Doco - Heat, Health & Housing in the NT May, 2024

As part of my major journalism project, I pitched and produced a feature video on the impact of extreme heat on health and housing in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. The pitch was presented to a panel of journalists from SBS, ABC, The Saturday Paper, and The Sydney Morning Herald.

The story explored how overcrowded, poorly insulated housing in Tennant Creek leaves residents facing heat-related health risks and financial strain. I travelled to the NT and spoke with Warumungu Elder Norman Frank Jupurrula about his solar panels and with members of Wilya Janta — a team of doctors, builders, engineers, and architects creating climate-friendly, culturally appropriate homes for the community.
